Ann Jones has spent decades exploring and writing about violence against women. In recent years, she has focused on women in conflict areas, include Afghanistan, where she has spent much of the past nine years. Her newest book, War is Not Over When It’s Over: Women Speak Out From the Ruins of War, chronicles her experience working with women in post-conflict areas in Africa, East Asia, and the Middle East. Ann ran a photography project with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) that aimed to empower women and share their experiences.
