Muslims were building mosques in the United States long before the controversy over Cordoba House, the Islamic center near ground zero. One of the earliest mosques can be found in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Bill Aossey Jr.’s family helped to build Iowa’s "Mother Mosque." He shares some history of Muslims in Iowa and reflects on the community’s integration.
