In Washington, D.C., a group called SAALT (South Asian Americans Leading Together) wanted to explore the impact of Islamophobia on South Asians. SAALT Executive Director Deepa Iyer put Islamophobia in the context of U.S. history. Community discussion participants brainstormed suggestions for where a dialogue should start.
