Only 30% of Afghans have access to adequate sanitation. In Kabul, the director of sanitation estimates that the city’s well water will be too polluted to use in the next 3 to 4 years if no change is made. Reporter Tom A. Peter samples Afghan frustration –from the lack of facilities to a breakdown in cultural norms about when and where it’s ok to use the bathroom.
