The sight of a tire swing or slide can launch children and adults alike into memories of playing. But playgrounds themselves are not often seen as a community necessity. Marcus Veerman and the organization he founded, Playground Ideas, are working to change that by collaborating with communities in the developing world to design and build local playgrounds. He spoke with Latitudes host Rachel Louise Snyder about the need for playgrounds and how they can build community and play.
