Powerful People

Violence and vengeance play central roles in the directorial debut from Dain Said.

People can be a source of energy—and people can also deplete their own energy quickly.

The Swedish company that runs Stockholm’s central rail station says that body heat is a precious energy resource. About 250,000 commuters use the rail station daily. And the company is hoping to harness all that body heat the commuters generate to warm a new office building across the street.

And on the other end of the spectrum, humans have engaged in sport—and sport fighting—for a long time. A new movie from Malaysia depicts a violent story of fighters and family and is making the rounds at film festivals. Latitudes spoke with Bunohan producer Tim Kwok about the film and its reception.
