It's nearly impossible to argue against the advantages of solar energy. The sun has staying power—especially compared to the finite resources of oil, coal, and natural gas. Still, solar energy requires significant capital investment.
So perhaps it should come as no surprise that some of the most recent advocates of solar energy are among the world's wealthiest: Saudi Arabia says it hopes to become a major world exporter of solar power.
